# Running clients' Facebook ads? Add Facebook group posting to the retainer

Already run clients’ Facebook ads? Add group posting to the retainer: clients keep their login, you schedule from one dashboard and report both channels.

Canonical: https://groupposting.com/for/facebook-ads-agencies/

Facebook ads add-on · from €199/month

If you already run clients' Facebook ads, group posting can be a per-client add-on to the retainer. Business Suite can't schedule into groups a client has only joined, so each client connects their own Group Posting extension, their own Chrome publishes, and you schedule and report from one dashboard. Agency plans start at €199 a month.

  Why groups

## Why ads clients need a groups line on the retainer

Your clients' ads run through Pages and ad accounts they share with you. The groups they joined sit outside that access, Meta's public API no longer publishes into groups, and the ads stop when the budget does.

### Partner access covers Pages and ad accounts

Meta lets a business [share Pages, ad accounts and other business assets](<https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1717412048538897>) with an agency. A Facebook group isn't one of Meta's [business asset types](<https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1242256693745272>), and [Business Suite](<https://www.facebook.com/business/help/942827662903020>) schedules only into groups linked to a Page the client administers.

### Schedulers lost group posting in 2024

Meta [removed the publish\_to\_groups permission](<https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/changelog/version19.0>) on April 22, 2024, so Buffer, Hootsuite and other API schedulers can't publish into groups. Facebook's [own scheduler](<https://www.facebook.com/help/124331564818285>) covers only groups where the client is an admin or moderator.

### Ads stop when the budget stops

Group posts have no media cost and run on their own schedule, so a client stays active in their groups between campaigns and when ad spend is cut.

A big organic surface. In Q2 2026, 14.6% of US organic Feed views came from groups people had joined, about as many as from the Pages and profiles they follow (14.8%), according to Meta's [Widely Viewed Content Report](<https://transparency.meta.com/reports/widely-viewed-content-report/>), which leaves ads out. Meta also says [almost 1.8 billion people use Facebook Groups every month](<https://about.fb.com/news/2024/10/facebook-local-tab-messenger-communities-ai/>).

  The add-on

## What your client gets from the add-on

One more line on the retainer, with output the client can check every week: posts in their groups, and a link to each one.

### Posts in the groups they already belong to

A steady schedule in the groups the client has joined, as their profile or as a Page they manage, where group admins allow Pages.

### Written in their brand voice

Draft from a brand profile per client in the AI suite, in each client's brand voice, adapted per group where rules differ.

### A result for every group

Each post reports back as delivered, held for review or refused, with a link to the published post.

### A summary for the ads report

A printable monthly summary and a CSV per client, ready to sit next to the ad results you already send.

### Lead Radar on their groups

You choose the groups, keywords and scan frequency. The leads it finds stay private to the client; you never see a lead or a count.

### Their own login and an off switch

The client keeps their Facebook login and can pause your posting or disconnect from their own extension at any time.

Same protections, no shortcuts. Managed posts run on the same pacing and one-run-at-a-time protections as every other post, and nothing you push can post faster than the client's own settings.

  Workflow

## How group posting fits your ads work

Four steps that sit next to the campaign calendar you already run.

1. 01

   ### Start from the ad calendar

Turn each month's campaign theme or offer into group posts, rewritten for each group's rules. Most of what people see on Facebook has no link: [98.9% of US Feed views](<https://transparency.meta.com/reports/widely-viewed-content-report/>) in Q2 2026 had no link to a source outside Facebook.
2. 02

   ### Connect the client once

Send a connect link or code. The client confirms in their own extension, on a sheet that lists exactly what is shared. Nothing is shared before they confirm.
3. 03

   ### Schedule next to the campaigns

Plan schedules, sequences and multi-step campaigns on a calendar across clients: announcements in launch weeks where groups allow promotion, a steady cadence between flights. The first push to a new client lands paused until you arm it.
4. 04

   ### Report both channels together

Every group post reports back with a link. Add the per-group results and the client's logged enquiries to the monthly ads report, and bring recurring questions from comments into your next ad test.

Posts only go out while the client's Chrome is open and signed in to Facebook. You schedule; their browser publishes. A post that misses its slot is reported as missed, never as published.

### Groups aren't an ad-audience source

Meta's [engagement custom audiences](<https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1090330204367211>) come from a Page, an Instagram account, videos, lead forms, events, Instant Experiences and shopping, and none of them is a group. Members who click through to the client's site are website visitors like any others, so a site running the Meta pixel can include them in a [website custom audience](<https://www.facebook.com/business/help/610516375684216>) where consent allows. Treat that as a bonus when you sell the add-on.

  Illustrative

## The add-on arithmetic, with every assumption shown

An example to adapt. It is neither a benchmark nor a promise: change the fee and the hours to your own, and the method stays the same.

For scale, Credo's [PPC pricing survey](<https://getcredo.com/guide/digital-marketing-industry-pricing-survey/ppc-pricing/>) (last updated 2022) found 50.97% of PPC firms set a retainer minimum between $1,000 and $3,000 a month. We know of no survey that prices group posting on its own, so price it by scope: groups, posts a week, drafting and approvals, and the monthly report. Our guide to [offering group posting as a service](<https://groupposting.com/for/agencies/offer-facebook-group-posting-as-a-service/>) sets out example packages, the pricing method step by step and a statement-of-work checklist.

### Assumptions

- 5 ads clients take the add-on.
- Each posts to 20 groups, 2 posts per group a week: 40 group posts a week, about 173 a month.
- Example fee: €300 per client a month, an assumption for illustration with no benchmark behind it.
- Team time with the posting automated: 3 hours per client a month for drafts, approvals and the report.
- By hand (as the client's Page from your own login, where groups allow Pages): 3 minutes a post (our [ROI calculator](<https://groupposting.com/roi/>)'s default), about 8.67 hours a month per client.
- Software: €199 a month, the monthly price of our 10-client plan.

The add-on arithmetic for the example, per month

| Example, per month | Result |
| --- | --- |
| Add-on revenue, 5 clients × €300 | €1,500 a month |
| Software: Agency Starter, monthly price (up to 10 clients) | €199 a month |
| Revenue after software | €1,301 |
| Team time with the posting automated (5 × 3 h) | 15 hours |
| Per team hour, posting automated | €86.73 |
| Team time posting by hand as the client's Page instead (15 h + 43.3 h of clicking) | 58.3 hours |
| Per team hour, by hand | €25.71 |

This is arithmetic from the assumptions above; nothing here was measured. Try your own numbers in the [ROI calculator](<https://groupposting.com/roi/>).

At the example fee, one add-on client covers the monthly price of Agency Starter.

  Consent

## Consent first, and the client stays in charge

The connection is the client's choice, made in their own extension, and they can end it at any time.

### They keep the login

Facebook's [terms](<https://www.facebook.com/terms>) ask people not to share their password or give others access to their account. You never need it: the client's own signed-in browser does the posting.

### They see what's shared before anything is

The sheet they confirm lists everything, including their group list, profile and Page names, ids and pictures, the results of the posts you schedule, and extension health. Their password, messages, own posts and leads are never shared.

### They can pause or disconnect at any time

Both switches are in the settings of their own extension, and both work offline.

### You sign a processing agreement

You accept our data processing agreement in the dashboard before you use it. For client data you direct us to process, you are the controller and we are your processor. See the [agency section of our privacy policy](<https://groupposting.com/privacy/#agency>).

### Rules still apply

Each group's rules and Facebook's [spam policy](<https://transparency.meta.com/policies/community-standards/spam/>) apply to every post. Never pay an admin for posting rights: the policy bans buying or selling "permission to post in specific spaces". Restrictions remain possible; see [pacing and account safety](<https://groupposting.com/features/account-safety/>).

- Write a post once, get drafts in each client's brand voice, adapted per group where rules differ, and roll it out to many clients
- The AI suite with a brand profile per client, plus an image studio
- Collections built from the groups each client's browser reported, with a per-group scorecard
- Every result reported back with a link to the post

- Cloud backup isn't included on managed client browsers. Saving a local backup file always works, and a client with their own licence keeps their own cloud backup.
- Posts carry text and images today. Video is not supported yet.
- A client can disconnect at any time from their own extension.
- To change plan, email [sales@groupposting.com](<mailto:sales@groupposting.com>).
- Admin of just a few clients' Pages? One Pro licence in your own browser may be enough. [See Pro pricing](<https://groupposting.com/pricing/#plans>)

  FAQ

## Questions ads agencies ask about the add-on

### Can I use my Business Suite access to post in my clients' groups?

Not into the groups the client has only joined. Business Suite schedules only into groups linked to a Page the client administers, and partner access doesn't widen that: it shares business assets such as Pages and ad accounts, and a Facebook group isn't one of Meta's asset types. Meta also removed the publish\_to\_groups permission on April 22, 2024, so third-party schedulers can't post into groups. Group Posting publishes from each client's own signed-in browser instead, after the client confirms the connection.

### Do group posts help my clients' ad targeting?

Not directly. Meta's engagement custom audiences come from a Facebook Page, an Instagram account, videos, lead forms, events, Instant Experiences and shopping, and a group is not on that list. People who click from a group post to the client's website are website visitors like any others, so a site running the Meta pixel can include them where consent allows.

### How should I price group posting as an add-on?

Price it by scope: how many groups, how many posts a week, who writes and approves the drafts, and the monthly report, with onboarding billed once. We know of no survey that prices group posting on its own. The example on this page shows the method with one assumed fee and three hours of team time per client a month.

### What does my client have to do?

Install the free Group Posting extension in Chrome or Edge on their computer, open the connect link or type the code you send, and confirm once on a sheet that lists exactly what is shared. After that they keep Chrome open and signed in to Facebook when posts are due. They can pause your posting or disconnect from their own extension at any time.

### What happens to group posts when a client pauses their ads?

Nothing changes. Group posts run on their own schedule from the client's browser, separate from the ad account and its budget, so the client stays active in their groups between campaigns. Posts still go out only while the client's Chrome is open and signed in to Facebook, and a post that misses its slot is reported as missed, never as published.

### Which agency plan fits an ads agency?

Agency Starter is €199/month or €1,990/year for up to 10 clients and 3 dashboard members; Agency Scale is €349/month or €3,490/year for up to 25 clients and 5 dashboard members. The dashboard member count includes you. Count only the clients likely to take the add-on. Yearly is 2 months free.
