Do I need my client's Facebook password?
No, never. Your clients keep their own Facebook login. You never hold a password. The client confirms the connection once in their own extension, and their own signed-in browser does the posting. Their password, cookies and messages are never shared with you.
What does my client have to do?
Install the free Group Posting extension, open your connect link and confirm once on a sheet that lists exactly what is shared. While they're connected, your plan covers Pro features in their browser, except cloud backup. They can pause your posting or disconnect from their own extension at any time.
Does the client's Chrome have to be open?
Yes. Posts only go out while the client's Chrome is open and signed in to Facebook. A post that comes due while the computer is off or asleep is reported as missed if Chrome isn't back within a short grace window, never as published.
Can posts go out as my client's Facebook Page?
Yes. A client covers their own profile and the Pages they manage from that Facebook login, and you choose which one each schedule posts as. The client opens a Page in their own extension once so their browser knows it.
Can Buffer, Hootsuite or Business Suite do this instead?
Not for groups the client has only joined. Meta removed group publishing from its API on 22 April 2024. Buffer now sends a reminder for groups, Hootsuite's help lists Facebook Pages, not groups, and Business Suite schedules only into groups linked to a Page the client administers.
