Post as your Page or personal profile
Choose the right Facebook identity in setup or Compose, switch back after a mismatch, and refresh missing Pages.
How do I choose in setup?
- Sign in to Facebook in the same Chrome profile where you use GPP.
- On Who are you posting as?, choose the name marked Your profile or Facebook Page.
- Choose Continue to bring in that identity's groups.
If GPP cannot load the choices, use Look again. Each profile or Page has its own groups and workspace.
How do I change it in Compose?
- Open Compose and find Posting as.
- Choose Change to open the profile menu. You can also open it from your name in the header.
- Select your personal profile or Page, then check the name shown before starting the post.
Finish or stop a running post run before switching. Changing the workspace affects your next manual post; existing automations keep their saved profile or Page.
Why is there a Switch back strip?
The strip appears when Facebook is acting as a different profile or Page from the one selected in GPP. Choose Switch back to reapply your selected identity, then review the name before starting again. The strip does not post anything by itself.
If the strip shows Open Facebook, open Facebook, sign in to the intended account, then return to GPP. Choosing an identity in GPP does not sign in to another Facebook account.
Don't see your Page?
- Open Facebook and check that you are signed in to the account that manages the Page.
- Return to GPP, open the profile menu and choose Refresh profiles.
- If profiles still cannot load, check that the extension has access to Facebook, then reopen the extension and try again.
- If the Page is listed but GPP cannot establish its session, open Facebook, switch to that Page and retry.
If a particular group refuses Page posts, check its rules. Use your personal profile where appropriate, or choose groups that accept Pages.
